Imagery of water has been used throughout history, art, and religion to represent peace and reset. We are drawn towards still bodies of water, such as ponds and rivers, as a space of solace and intimacy. Maison at Yale's 2024-2025 photo project "Hyperborea" explores the change that happens to us within the water, and the refuge it provides.
